The Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation is proud to offer the Missouri Family Education Loan Program (MOFELP)

Your MOFELP loan is serviced by MOHELA on behalf of the Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation.

The Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation was created in 2010 and is a tax-exempt, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) corporation. The Foundation was formed by MOHELA to help make higher education more accessible and affordable for Missouri families. By providing scholarships and low-cost student loans, the Foundation supports persistence to graduation from institutions of higher education by Missouri citizens.

The Foundation’s mission is to provide innovative products and services to help Missouri students, particularly those with insufficient financial resources, to prepare for, enter into and successfully complete higher education at Missouri institutions.

Servicing Information to Know

MOHELA is dedicated to providing full access to all resources to ensure your servicing experience is exceptional. We encourage you to set up a web account for 24-hour access to account information and management. To receive correspondence quickly and easily, you can sign up for Paperless communication. When a document or bill has been generated, an email will be sent advising to log in to your web account. You can view your documents via “My Messages.”

Communications you should expect to receive from MOHELA for your MOFELP loan include, but are not limited to:

  • Monthly Billing Statement - If not enrolled in Auto Debit, a monthly statement will be sent via mail or Paperless communication. The Billing Statement includes your last payment date and amount, past due amount, if applicable, current amount due, total amount due, and late fee amount if paid after due date.
  • Returned Payment Notification - Provides the date of payment and amount of payment that was returned. This is to allow a replacement payment to be made to avoid a past due status.

MOHELA offers several options to make monthly payments. Enrolling in Auto Debit allows payments to be automatically withdrawn monthly. You can also add an amount to be withdrawn in addition to your normal monthly payment. Enrolling in Auto Debit is recommended since MOFELP loans have a monthly payment in the amount of $5 while you are in-school.

We have several other methods to help you manage your loan payments. We provide 24 hour web access to schedule a one-time payment at your convenience or 24 hour access option is to pay by phone through our automated system at 800.809.0964 (Toll Free). Payments are accepted via mail but may take up to 7 business days to post to your account. To pay by mail, please remit to:

MOHELA provides a monthly loan status update to the four major Consumer Reporting Agencies. Therefore, it is important to keep your contact information up to date so that we may notify you promptly if your account is past due.

    This is a great way to stay on top of your student loans.

    • Review loan details (balance, accrued interest, etc.)
    • Update your contact information
    • Enroll in and manage notifications
    • Sign up for Go Paperless electronic correspondence for quicker account updates
    • Access secure messages with customer service professionals
    • Complete forms and upload forms for processing
    • Make payments

  • Contact Information

    Keep your contact information up to date so we can reach you with important information. Also, keep an eye on your email for important account updates.

  • Third-Party Authorization

    To authorize someone you trust (e.g., parents or spouse) to have access to your account information, you can download and complete the Third-Party Authorization Form by creating an account.

  • Optional Payment

    You can choose to pay toward your student loans at any time, which will save you money down the road.
